The new gallery has emerged from an unusable, leaky, weed entangled building within the studio complex.  With the financial backing from Adnams Community Trust and the Suffolk Climate Action Community Match Funder, volunteers have transformed the old building to create an informal and low-key cultural space for visitors in a welcoming environment. We hope that the gallery will become a new destination for art enthusiasts, locals and holidaymakers alike.

Butley Mills Studios are located in the depths of rural Suffolk, at the head of Butley Creek, an area of outstanding natural beauty that attracts many walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. The original site was an old grain store that has been converted into 16 studios for artists to rent at affordable rates, including bronze sculptors, stone and steel sculptors, painters and ceramicists. The artists’ collective is a diverse and vibrant centre, with a renowned working bronze foundry central to its activities.
